AB - This study aimed at introducing a suggested research map for educational management and planning research in the light of the ninth plan of development and the saudi society’s educational needs. The researcher used the analytical descriptive method. A questionnaire for identifying the selected sample’s directions and opinions concerning areas of development and their requirements in educational management and planning research, and the Saudi society’s educational needs was prepared. The analytic study included analyzing some scientific studies related to current the area of concern (n= 7 studies) and the ninth plan of development prepared by the ministry of economy and planning. The analysis aimed at identifying the areas of the ninth plan of development and the Saudi society’s educational needs in the educational management and planning research based on review of related literature and studies. Four areas of the society’s educational needs were identified: higher or university education, pre-university education in all stages, literacy and adult education, and the ninth development. In the light of this, 40 items were formulated and distributed to the previous four areas to prepare a list of the Saudi society’s and the ninth plan of development’s educational needs.in the light of the results of analyzing the previous studies and the ninth plan of development, a research map for each area of the previously identified four areas was suggested for future research in the area of educational management and planning. The plan in its initial form was submitted to a panel of jury members. The research map, its areas and items were accepted by 75% of the jury members. A group of recommendations and suggestions were presented.
