AU - قاسم، بشرى محمود AU - عبد الزبيدي، احمد محمد AB - The present research aims at investigating the effect of the probing questions in acquiring the geometrical Concepts of the Students in the intermediate stage in mathematics. The researcher used the experimental design consisting of a posttest and partial setting for two groups (experimental and control). The sample of the research consisted of (57) student (males) in the intermediate first class in Al-Ghadeer intermediate school for Boys located in province Qadisiyah. They are distributed randomly into, experimental group (29) Student and the control group equate (28) Student, it have been made equivalent to the two groups were in variables (Age , Prior Achievement in Mathematics , General average for the Prior Achievement, Intelligence , Prior Knowledge in mathematics). The experiment was applied in the second semester of the academic year 2009–2010, and the researcher taught both groups. The researcher build a test to measure the Acquiring of the geometrical Concepts consisting of (70) items, which represent article items, each geometrical Concept is measured by two items. . The researcher used the same statistical tools , including (t-test ) for the samples independent and Alpha Cornbrash Equation to calculate the Test Reliability and Cooper Equation to calculate the Correction Reliability and Difficulty Equation and Discrimination Equation. The results of the research shows that students who have studied by probing questions were better than the students who have studied by ordinary method in the Acquiring of the geometrical Concepts at the level (0.05).
