AU - المامون، أميرة حسن. AU - صالح، رفيدة مبارك محمد AB - This study aims to discuss the role of book cover Illustrations of primary schooling textbooks in general. It, more specifically, focuses on Arabic Language text books for the first circle (first, second, and third grades) published by the Sudanese Ministry of Education from 2005 to date. The paper also discusses the quality standards of the illustrations and its role in the educational process. It attempts to create a complementary unit between texts and illustrations to assist the students in learning and grasping the correlation between book sections, and develop their aesthetic response to illustrations in textbooks. The study was conducted in the state of Khartoum using a descriptive analytical methodology and a survey method’ Tools s used are observation and questionnaire. After data analysis results indicated weaknesses in the textbooks covers designs. Textbooks covers are crowded with unsystematic vocabulary, which hinders the process of learning; moreover, its ideas are unsuitable to the students at these grades. The study recommends that primary schooling textbooks covers must be designed in accordance with the expected learning outcomes (Published abstract) http://search.shamaa.org/abstract_en.gif AB - تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى مناقشة دورالصور التوضيحية المستخدمة في أغلفة الكتب المدرسية لمرحلة الاساس بوجه عام وكتب مادة اللغة العربية الحلقة الاولى (الصف الاول والثاني والثالث) الصادرة من وزارة التربية والتعليم السودانية في الفترة من 2005 الى الان على وجه الخصوص ، تناقش الورقة أيضا معايير جودة الصور الإيضاحية ودورها في العملية التعليمية. وتسعى كذلك لخلق وحدة تكاملية بين النص والصورة تساعد التلاميذ في التحصيل وادراك الترابط بين جزئيات الكتاب، وتطوير قدراتهم على الاستجابة الجمالية للصورة التوضيحية في الكتب المدرسية. أجريت الدراسة في ولاية الخرطوم باستخدام المنهج الوصفي التحليلي (أسلوب المسح) والادوات المستخدمة هي الملاحظة والاستبيان . وبعد تحليل البيانات أشارت النتائج إلي ان اغلفة الكتب تعاني من ضعف في التصميم ، فهي مزدحمة بالمفردات غير المتناسقة مما يعيق عملية التعلم ، بالاضافة الى ان افكارها لا تناسب التلاميذ في هذه المرحلة وتوصي الدراسة بتصميم أغلفة الكتب الدراسية لمرحلة الأساس بما يتوافق مع مخرجات التعلم المرجوة .
