This study aimed to investigate the use of digital media tools in self-directed academic achievement among Yemeni university students, examining the reality, implications, and obstacles through an applied study at Sada'ah University. The researcher employed a descriptive survey methodology and developed a questionnaire consisting of 49 items distributed across three dimensions, which underwent validity and reliability verification. The questionnaire was administered to a sample of students at Sada'ah University, selected through simple random sampling, with a total sample size of 220 male and female students. The study findings revealed that the current state of Sada'ah University students' use of digital media tools for self-directed academic achievement obtained a percentage of 59%, rated as moderate. The dimension examining the implications of digital media tool usage on students' self-directed academic achievement achieved a percentage of 69%, rated as high. Meanwhile, the dimension addressing obstacles to using digital media tools in self-directed academic achievement obtained a percentage of 80%, also rated as high. The study demonstrated no statistically significant differences at the 0.05 significance level regarding students' use of digital media tools in self-directed academic achievement based on gender or academic specialization variables. However, statistically significant differences were found according to academic level, favoring fourth-year students. (Publisher’s abstract)
