تحليل محتوى منهاج الرياضيات للصف الثامن من مرحلة التعليم الأساسي في سورية في ضوء معايير التمثيل الرياضي

This research amid at analyzing the content of the mathematics curriculum for the eighth grade of basic education in Syria of academic year (2025-2024) in the light of mathematical representation standards. The researcher followed the descriptive approach, with the usage the list of the three mathematical representation standards of the National Council of Mathematics Teachers (NCTM, 2000) for the grades (6-9) after translating it into Arabic, and the researcher wrote the indicators of these three standards and designed content analysis tool after verifying its psychometric properties. The analysis included all the lessons of the books of algebra and geometry, which included 469 paragraphs in the book of algebra and 594 in the book of geometry, The research reached several results, the most important of which are: 1) The standard "create and use representations to organize, record, and communicate mathematical ideas" with a percentage of 48.61% and the first order in the book of algebra. 2) followed by the criterion "select, apply, and translate among mathematical representations to solve problems" with a percentage of 33.26%. 3) The standard "select, apply, and translate among mathematical representations to solve problems" with a percentage of 54.38% and the first order in the book of geometry. 4) followed by the criterion standard "create and use representations to organize, record, and communicate mathematical ideas" with a percentage of 38.55%. 5) On the other hand, the standard "use representations to model and interpret physical, social, and mathematical phenomena" came in last place with a percentage of 16.20% in the algebra book and 1.18% in the geometry textbook.
