This study aimed to know the relationship between perceived self-efficacy and reading strategies (cognitive, metacognitive and compensatory) among doctoral students (LMD) at the University of Ouargla, and know the significance of differences in the relationship between the different genders (males / females), and specialization (Scientific / literary) and the detection of the level of perceived self-efficacy and the reading strategies most used by this sample to achieve the objectives of the study, we use the descriptive approach and we used two measures to collect data (perceived self-efficacy prepared by the researcher and reading strategies developed by Shang "2010" and Arabized by Alwan and Al Muhasasa 2011). Their psychometric properties were confirmed, and accordingly they were applied to a sample of (150) male and female students (LMD) at the University of Ouargla during the 2018-2019 academic year, and by using the statistical methods represented in (averages, standard deviation, relative weights, Pearson correlation coefficient, Fisher Z, to indicate the difference between correlation coefficients). It has been reached that the level of perceived self-efficacy of doctoral students (LMD) at the University of Ouargla is average , there is a significant relationship between perceived self-efficacy and reading strategies for doctoral students (LMD) at the University of Ouargla, and the relationship between perceived self-efficacy and reading strategies for doctoral students (LMD) at the University of Ouargla does not differ according to the difference between the gender (males / females) and to Difference of specialization (Scientific / literary).
