This study aimed at revealing the effectiveness of a counseling program in the light of the Pintrich model for developing self-regulated learning strategies (SRLS) of 2nd level pupils at secondary school in Ouargla provency, Algeria. The study was determined by the experimental approach with the design of the experimental and control groups. The sample consisted 30 pupils had low scores on SRLS questionnaire, were divided by two equivalent groups (15: experimental, 15: control), and We used Pintrich’s questionnaire after Arabization, and ensure its validity, We also applied a counseling program based on the Pintrich model, which consisted of 15 sessions on the experimental group. To process the data of the study, the (t) test was used to calculate the differences between two independent samples, and the (t) test to calculate the significance of the differences between two related samples, as well as the eta-square. The results showed: There were no significant differences between experimental and control groups in the post-measurement of SRLS. There were no significant differences in SRLS between post and follow-up measurements for experimental group. (Author’s abstract)
