The research aims to identify social competence among a sample of people with learning disabilities. This is achieved by constructing and codifying a social competence scale to identify the level of social competence among (30) male and female students in the second year of middle school with learning disabilities in the Tal Al-Kabir area in Ismailia Governorate, in academic year 2022-2023. The results of the research showed that the current scale is valid for measuring the social competence variable, has an appropriate degree in terms of validity and reliability, and is valid for the purposes of scientific research related to the same variable for the age group of people with learning disabilities, which extends between (13-15) years. The research reached a set of recommendations, namely: applying the scale as a testing basis when selecting students in middle schools with learning disabilities, and using educational specialists for the social competence scale and applying it from time to time to students with learning disabilities to determine the development of their level of social competence, and educating teachers and social workers. Psychologists emphasize the importance of social competence among people with learning disabilities because of its role in shaping the individual’s personality. (Published abstract)
