The effectiveness of a program using children's pictured stories for developing reading skills of students with down syndrome. the current study aimed at investigating the effectiveness of a program using children's pictured stories for developing reading skills of students with down syndrome. Sample of the study consisted of twelve down's syndrome students at intellectual education school at Damietta. Their ages varied between (9-12) years. Sample was divided into two groups experimental and control groups. Following tools were administrated: Stanford-Binet Intelligence, 5th edition (Gale H. Roi, translated by Safwat Farag, 2011), economic, social, and cultural measurement (Mohamed Saafan, Doaa Khatab, 2016), Vineland adaptive behavior scales (Edgar Doll, translated by (Bander Naser El-Eteeby, 2004), reading skills test (prepared by the researcher). The experimental group was taught by the children's pictured stories program while the control group was taught by the traditional method. Results revealed that there are statistically significant differences between the mean ordinal scores of the experimental and control groups in the pre-administration in the reading skills test in favor of the experimental group as (Z) value is significant at 0.01 level. There is no statistically significant difference between the mean ordinal score of members of the experimental group in the post-administration and follow up the administration of the reading skills test as (Z) value was not significant.
