The study aimed to identify innovative thinking skills and the extent of their availability in the science textbooks for first intermediate-grade students. Study sample included the entire research community. The study relied on the descriptive analytical approach as a study method, and it used the content analysis card as a study tool. The study concluded that the list of basic skills for innovative thinking (fluency, flexibility, originality, and expansion of knowledge). It showed that the availability of innovative thinking skills in first intermediate science books ranges from 21.1% to 29.4%, with fluency skills at 29.4%, knowledge expansion at 27.7%, and flexibility at 21.1%. The study recommended asking questions that help in suggesting multiple ideas and innovative solutions instead of questions that require one correct answer. (Published abstract)
