The study aimed to construct a proposed teaching strategy based on the practice of going deep with mathematics among fourth-grade primary students and to reveal its effectiveness in developing their positive mathematical identity. The study adopted the mixed approach with its sequential exploratory design, as it depended firstly on the qualitative approach to construct and develop the proposed strategy, employing participatory observation, semi-structured interviews, and visual and audio recordings of the class teacher and his (16) students. Secondly, the experimental method with an experimental and control group design was used to measure the effectiveness of the proposed strategy and apply it to a cluster random sample consisting of two classes in the fourth primary school, the first of which was the control group, consisting of (21) students, and the other of which was the experimental group, consisting of (22) students. The study used a tool, the positive mathematical identity scale for fourth-grade primary school students, and the teacher's guide was prepared according to the proposed strategy. The results showed the effectiveness of the proposed teaching strategy at the (0.01) level with a very large effect size and the presence of a statistically significant difference between the average scores of the students of the experimental group and the scores of the students of the control group in the post-measurement of the positive mathematical identity scale, in favor of the experimental group, and the presence of a statistically significant difference between the average scores of the experimental group in the pre- and post-measurement of positive mathematical identity in favor of the post-application. Based on these results, the study presented a set of recommendations to the Ministry of Education, curriculum experts, mathematics teachers, and their educational supervisors. It also presented a number of research proposals related to the subject of the study. (Published abstract)
