أثر وحدة مقترحة لتنمية بعض مهارات القراءة للأميين في ضوء المعايير العالمية لتعليم القراءة
The research aims at measuring the impact of a proposed course book unit designed to improve reading skills for the illiterate in the light of the international standards for teaching reading: In order to achieve the dissertation, this thesis was divided into Four parts as follows: 1) Setting the criteria of reading that suits the illiterate enrolled in literacy and adult learning programmes. 2) Designing the proposed unit in the light of the international standards: learning outcomes, content, teaching strategies and methodology, activates and teaching aids, and assessment. 3) Designing a reading achievement test to assess the achievement level of the illiterate enrolled in the literacy and adult learning programmes, measuring the reading level before and after teaching the unit. 4) Field application of the research: a) Choosing the search group. b) Pre-application of the research tools: the reading achievement test achievement test. c) Teaching the unit curriculum. d) Post – application of the research tools, mentioned above. The statistical processing of the data, reaching conclusions and marking recommendation and suggestions: Research outcomes: There is a statistically significant difference between the average marks of the search groups results, of those who sat the reading achievement test, in favour of post - application results. Therefore, the research clearly indicates the positive impacts of the impact of a proposed course book unit designed to improve reading skills for the illiterate in the light of the international standards for teaching reading.
