This study aims to reveal the challenges of applying school self-evaluation in Ahid Almsarha governorate from the perspective of the self-evaluation team, which contributes to enhancing competitiveness among educational institutions by improving students' attainment level, thus achieving the objectives of Vision 2030. However, any program leading to change must face challenges, which this study aims to reveal and make appropriate proposals. To achieve this the study used qualitative research methodology (case study), and the application of the semi-structured interview tool, and the research sample was two directors and six teachers from two schools, who selected intentionally. The results of the study showed that the team was not well prepared and that training programs were scarce, causing the process's objectives and implementation mechanisms to not be known. It did not provide effective support by experts and specialists to apply the school self-evaluation and school accreditation to assist the evaluation team. Relying the whole process on the evaluation team despite the many tasks assigned in addition to the time of implementation. The study recommended the need to prepare early and train the evaluation team, disseminate the culture of self-evaluation in the school community and develop incentives for the evaluation team.
