This study aimed to explore the phenomenon of school bullying among upper elementary students in coeducational public schools in Palestine by identifying its forms, causes, locations, effects, and possible solutions. Adopting a qualitative approach, the researchers conducted in-depth individual interviews and focus group discussions with a purposive sample of seven teachers (four males and three females). The findings revealed that bullying manifested in verbal, physical, social, and psychological forms and was prevalent among both genders, with physical bullying more common among males. Key causes included psychological issues, family problems, and school-related factors. Bullying occurred in various locations such as schoolyards, classrooms, bathrooms, corridors, and even outside the school. Its effects were both educational and psychological, including repeated absenteeism, low academic achievement, stress, anxiety, depression, isolation, and vandalism. The study recommended enhancing school supervision, applying clear disciplinary regulations, raising awareness among students, families, and the broader community, promoting a culture of respect and empathy, and strengthening the role of school counseling. It also highlighted the importance of integrating anti-bullying content into school curricula as a preventive measure to reduce and address the spread of bullying in educational settings.
