Since caring for the environment has become imperative in the current era, given that the world has not experienced problems that affect the ecosystem and life on the planet, from the increase in global warming and the increase in carbon dioxide, in addition to crises related to water, energy, food, and fuel. The situation has become more complicated by the problem of climate change, and with all this the population increase. Therefore, many countries began to reconsider the traditional economic systems that deplete natural resources without taking into account the rights of future generations to benefit from these resources. Countries have tended to pay attention to environmentally friendly investments, as the best way and solution in preserving natural resources. There was interest in the green economy as an economic activity that is environmentally friendly and one of the ways to achieve sustainable development. Many studies have confirmed the need to integrate it into the educational process and for university education to become sustainable through the sustainability of buildings, green campuses and environmentally friendly green practices. On the international rankings that have emerged to increase competitiveness among universities in achieving green practices that make universities occupy a distinguished and elevated position in the global rankings. The research aims to develop a proposed model for the development of universities in the light of the international classification of green universities and to achieve more sustainable practices. The research reached a proposed vision for the development of universities in the light of the international classification. (Published abstract)
