The aim of the research is to identify the relationship of cognitive distortions to depression among Internet addicts. The sample consisted of (201) male and female students from the University of Zagazig, the first year and the fourth year, the literary and scientific departments of the faculty of (Arts - Education - Law - Engineering - Pharmacy - Science). For this purpose, the researcher used the following scales: cognitive distortions scale. (Prepared by Ahmed Haroun, 2017), and the depression scale (D-2) BDI-II. (Prepared by Gharib Abdel-Fattah Gharib, 2015), and the Internet Addiction Scale. (Prepared by Iman Mustafa Sarmini, 2015), and the researcher used the comparative and relational descriptive method. The results of the study concluded that there are positive correlations statistically significant between the degrees of cognitive distortions (dimensions and total scores) and the total degrees of depression among Internet addicts, and that there are no statistically significant differences between the average scores of males and females in cognitive distortions (all dimensions and total scores). And the (T) value of the difference between the mean scores of males and females in the total degree of depression is statistically significant (at the level of 0.01) in favor of females, and that there are no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the students of the scientific department and students of the literary department in cognitive distortions (All dimensions and total scores), and there is no statistically significant difference between the mean scores of the students of the scientific department and students of the literary department in the total scores of depression, and that there are no statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the students of the first year and students of the fourth year in cognitive distortions (all dimensions and total scores) and there is no statistically significant difference between the mean scores of first-year students and fourth-year students in the total degrees of depression, and the total degrees of depression can be predicted from the scores of the dimensions of the cognitive distortions scale of Internet addicts.
