الأمل وعلاقته بالأعراض الاكتئابية لدى طلاب المرحلة الثانوية
The research aims to reveal the relationship between hope and depressive symptoms among secondary school students. The research was conducted on a sample of secondary school students in a number of schools in the Belbeis Administration of the Sharkia Governorate, amounting to (400) male and female students, (175) male and (225) female. Their ages range from (15-18) years with a mean (17.5) and a standard deviation (0.81). The research relied on the descriptive approach, and data was collected through a personal data form, a hope scale (prepared by the researcher), and a depressive symptoms scale prepared by Pedrelli et al (2014) (translated and Arabized by Mona Ahmed Nafi), and the research reached a number of results, represented by the presence of a statistically significant negative correlation at the (0.01) level between all dimensions of the hope scale and its total score and the depressive symptoms scale, and the results contributed that there were differences statistically significant at the (0.01) significance level between males and females in the degree of hope in favor of males. There are also statistically significant differences at the (0.01) significance level between males and females and the differences are in favor of females. There are also statistically significant differences at the (0.01) significance level among low those with a high degree of hope on the depressive symptoms scale favored those with low hope.
