The study aimed to identify the role of the family in achieving rationalization of food consumption in light of Islamic education in Rabigh Governorate. The study sample included (400) families in Rabigh Governorate. Due to the lack of a framework containing data on the numbers of families in Rabigh Governorate, the researcher adopted the non-rando sampling method. The researcher used the descriptive survey method as a method for the study. The questionnaire was used as a tool for the study. The study achieved a number of results, the most important of which is that the reality of the family is that it rationalizes food consumption to a high degree, as the arithmetic mean value reached (3.65) and the standard deviation (1.02). The difficulties facing the family in achieving rationalization of food consumption came to a moderate degree, with the arithmetic mean value reaching (3.06) and the standard deviation (1.10). Proposals for rationalizing food consumption also came to a high degree, with the arithmetic mean value (3.65) and standard deviation (1.11). The average value reached (1.11). The arithmetic score for the questionnaire as a whole is high with a mean (3.45) and standard deviation (1.08). The study recommended several recommendations, the most important of which are: developing electronic platforms and applications dedicated to food rationalization that help families plan their meals, track their food consumption, and reduce waste by suggesting recipes using leftover foods. Cooperating with local restaurants and markets to reduce waste, organizing community competitions on rationalizing food consumption, and offering prizes for innovative ideas that contribute to achieving more efficient consumption.
