خصخصة التعليم العالي بدولة الكويت في ضوء بعض الخبرات العالمية : تصور مقترح
The study aims to create a general perception of applying privatization in higher education in the state of Kuwait in the light of some international experiences by identifying the present academic, functional and financial status of Kuwait University that requires privatization. It also determines the necessary requirements for applying privatization at Kuwait University in the light of some international experiences and investigates the most important positive and negative effects of applying privatization at Kuwait University. The author adopted a descriptive survey method to find answers to the study questions. In addition, the Delphi method is utilized to extract experts’ opinions in an attempt to develop a proposal for applying privatization of higher education in the state of Kuwait. The population covered merely 1704 faculty members from all faculties of Kuwait University. The study sample includes a stratified random sample of 179 faculty members and a purposive sample of some selected experts. The author designed a questionnaire and adopted the Delphi method. The results of the study, the most important findings that the thesis concluded are applying privatization at Kuwait University requires the following: the university has the ability to design its organizational structure in coordination with its work nature and its reliance on modern information technology in all its administrative and academic systems. In addition, faculty members are free to choose the teaching methods and approaches in accordance with the requirements of the curriculum. (Published abstract)
