فاعلية استخدام استراتيجية القصص القصيرة المصورة في تدريس اللغة الإنجليزية على تنمية مهارة الاستماع وبقاء أثر التعلم لدى طالبات الصف السادس الابتدائي
The study aimed to identify the effectiveness of using illustrated short stories strategy in teaching English language on developing the listening skill and the impact of learning it for sixth grade primary students. Experimental method with a semi-experimental design was used and the purposive sample was divided into two groups: a) a control group which consisted of (24) students; dra b) experimental group consisted 6th grade primary students in Al-Rass, Qassim Region. To achieve the study’s objectives and test its hypotheses, the researcher prepared educational study tools and materials, where the (listening skill test) was prepared, illustrated short stories were prepared and designed, and teacher guide. The study reached a set of results, most notably: 1) there was a statistically significant difference between the average scores of the experimental group and the control group in the dependent variable in favor of the experimental group’ 2) there was a statistically significant difference between the average scores of the experimental group in the postponed test in favor of the experimental group; and 3) accordingly, the results showed the effectiveness of the illustrated short stories strategy in teaching English on the development of the listening skill and maintaining tht learning impact of sixth grade primary students. The study provide recommendations and suggestions to implement short stories in teaching and instruction not only in English language classes, but also in other teaching classes. The need to pay attention to the development of English language skills, especially the skill of listening, through the use of modern teaching strategies, and the study concluded with a number of proposed future studies.
