The research aimed to evaluate the reality of the quality of police education from the perspective of students, faculty members, and lecturers at the Police College. It identifies the most important requirements and challenges in enhancing the quality of police education in light of Oman Vision 2040. It also explores the opinions of faculty members regarding the improvements that can be introduced into police education curricula to align with the requirements of Oman Vision 2040 and to develop selection criteria for officer candidates. A mixed-method approach was used. The research was applied in the second semester of the year 2023. The quantitative research sample consisted of 402 officer candidates and 25 faculty members and lecturers at the Police College, who were randomly selected, and a scale of the reality of the requirements and challenges of enhancing the quality of police education in light of Oman Vision 2040, prepared by the researcher, was applied to them. The qualitative research sample (focus group discussions) included 19 faculty members and lecturers at the college. The results showed that among the most important requirements for enhancing the quality of police education are the presence of clear and specific standards for recruiting faculty members to teach at the college, balancing the academic, military, and psychological training for police officers, developing the curricula and teaching methods to meet the requirements of achieving Oman Vision 2040, introducing advanced cognitive courses that keep pace with the advancement of police education in the world, and developing selection criteria for officer candidates for police education programs by adding measures to assess personal traits, abilities, and intelligence levels. The qualitative data provided a deeper explanation and understanding of the quantitative research results. Based on these results, several recommendations emerged, including the importance of having clear and specific standards in recruiting faculty members at the Police College and providing them with appropriate training, which reflects the quality of teaching. Aligning the academic programs of the Police College in terms of their duration, curricula, teaching methods, and evaluation with quality standards, and with the requirements of achieving Oman Vision 2040. A comprehensive review of the selection criteria for officer candidates for police education programs in terms of initial conditions, age, physical fitness, qualifications, and years of experience.
