خبرات الطلاب الدوليين في إحدى مؤسسات التعليم العالي في المملكة العربية السعودية
This study aimed to discover the reality of international students at a public university in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and their experiences and difficulties in their daily lives and academic careers. The study used the descriptive analytical method to suit the study's objectives, and a questionnaire was developed to collect information from the study sample 234 male and female students enrolled in a Saudi university participated in the study. All participants in the study were students who received a full scholarship from the Saudi government. The scholarship covers the total tuition fees and provides monthly salaries and other benefits. One of the most prominent findings of the study was that international students had good experiences and perceptions while living and studying in the Kingdom. The results also indicated that international students faced no severe problems adapting to living and studying in Saudi Arabia, they did not face any discrimination or racism, and the student's social and cultural experiences were positive. International students also expressed their satisfaction with the housing and medical services provided to them by university officials. The study's results also showed that the majority of the study sample depended on the monthly salary provided by the university as a source of income and that this category of students does not receive any funding from their families. Linguistic differences and the skills associated with the Arabic language required by academic environments, such as reading, writing, listening, and speaking, were minor obstacles for non-Arab international students. The study also found that international students faced minimal academic difficulties during their studies in academic programs at that public university. International students were delighted with the educational facilities, relationships with professors, and university libraries. The study found no differences in the results due to the study variables. (Published abstract)
