This study aims to identify the importance of using multimedia in distance learning programs, to identify the extent of its use, and to reveal the obstacles to using multimedia in distance learning programs. To achieve this, the researchers used the descriptive analytical approach, where a random sample of 100 faculty members was selected which represents (40%) of the total population. The study reached a set of results, the most important of which are: The importance of using multimedia in distance learning programs for first-level students at the Faculty of Education, University of Khartoum. Courses are provided for first-level students in the form of word and pdf files. There are also obstacles that prevent the use of multimedia in distance learning programs, including: There is not enough contentment for faculty members to use multimedia in distance learning programs. In light of these results, the researchers recommended the following: Holding training courses that give faculty members the necessary competence to use multimedia in distance learning programs, holding training courses to solve technical problems facing faculty members, and encouraging and educating some officials about the importance of using multimedia in distance learning programs and applying and the use of multimedia in distance learning programs to improve and facilitate educational practice, especially in distance learning.
