The study aimed to identify the trends of female teachers in the city of Makkah towards the use of open-source platforms (MOOCs) in professional development. To achieve this goal, the study relied on the descriptive approach in its (survey) method, and the study was applied to (372) teachers of general education for the different educational stages (primary - intermediate - secondary) in the city of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, and the study tool was (questionnaire) electronically to collect study data. The most important results of the study were summarized in the attitudes of female teachers in the city of Makkah towards the use of open-source platforms (MOOCs) in professional development with a degree of (very high). The results also showed that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (α≤0.05) between the responses of the study sample in the degree of attitudes of female teachers in Makkah city towards the use of open source platforms (MOOCs) in professional development in light of the following study variables: (specialization, educational stage, years of teaching, training courses, previous experience in using open source platforms (MOOCs). In light of these results, and based on them, the study recommended several recommendations, the most important of which are: Holding training courses and workshops for teachers in the city of Makkah, to train them on how to benefit from open-source platforms (MOOCs) in professional development, and in a way that will help them achieve the best educational outcomes.
