The research aimed to design a program based on mental imagery supported by enrichment activities and to identify its effectiveness in developing short story writing skills and imaginative thinking skills among linguistically gifted middle school students, and to achieve this goal, the research used the experimental approach based on the quasi-experimental design (pre-post one group design), and the sample consisted of 22 students from linguistically gifted second preparatory grade students, and the research materials were identified in two lists of short story writing skills and imaginative thinking skills suitable for linguistically gifted second year middle school students; as well as the program based on mental imagery supported by enrichment activities were developed. Two measures were used for assessment purposes: short story writing skills test and imaginative thinking skills test for the linguistically gifted second grade preparatory students. The research results showed the effectiveness of the program based on mental imagery supported by enrichment activities in developing short story writing skills and imaginative thinking skills among the students of the research group. In addition, findings revealed that there is a statistically significant correlation between developing short story writing skills and imaginative thinking skills for the students of the research group. In the light of the above-mentioned results, a group of recommendations and future research were mentioned. (Published abstract)
