This article includes a field study to diagnose the difficulties of understanding and analyzing geographical and historical documents (map and timeline). Methodologically, we relied on the descriptive experimental approach, relying on a regular random sample estimated at 48 male and female learners distributed at the fifth and sixth primary levels, and the data were analyzed by a set of informational programs (arc gis and excel). We reached several results, most notably the spread of difficulty in understanding the map and reading its symbols, by absorbing the data of the timeline and its location in time. (Published abstract)
