Study sub-question: what is depression effect on university students? Main objective: this study aims to be acquainted with depression level and level of intellectual security with university students. It aims also to detect the extent of level variations of depression and the level of intellectual security with a study sample according to the variation of variables such as (age - individual income - academic qualification). This study aims also to detect the extent of intellectual security level contributions in predicting the levels of depression with the study sample of university students. Specific objectives: this study aims specifically to cast the light on the risks that depression causes to the levels of intellectual security and to move awareness in this respect. Samples of study: the sample of this study consists of students from College of Sciences and Human Studies in Dawadmi. The number of students in this sample is (154) students. Study methodology and tools: the researcher on this study has used the correlational descriptive approach. The researcher has also depended on two measurement tools, which are: 1) Beck Depression Inventory. 2) Scale of intellectual security prepared by the researcher to collect data. Findings: the study findings have concluded that there are nuances of statistical connotation at the level of (0.01) or less between real averages of the dimensions of intellectual security (citizenship dimension - intellectual dimension - media dimension). This study has also concluded that there are no differences of statistical connotation at the level of (0.05) or less among university students in the total mark of intellectual security and its four dimensions (citizenship dimension - intellectual dimension - media dimension) in relation to age variable. The researcher has recommended, concerning intellectual security, that student minds should be protected from attitudes that bear suspicious or extreme thoughts. The researcher has also recommended that all attitudes of religious, social and intellectual corruption should be confronted. Concerning depression symptoms, it is necessary to help student psychological specialist in getting over tension, current hard circumstances and difficult life experiences suffered by students.
