This study aims to identify the reality of the practice of human resources management tasks in general education schools from the point of view of school principals in Makkah in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the obstacles that limit the existence of a human resources management unit in the school, which may be affected by variables (age, experience, academic qualification, and educational stage). To achieve the objectives of the study, the descriptive curriculum and the questionnaire were used as a research tool, and their truthfulness and consistency were verified by appropriate educational and statistical methods, and applied to a random sample consisting of (70) a female director of general education schools in Makkah. The results of this study confirmed that the average degrees of availability for all areas of HR management tasks are high. Also, the highest available field of human resources management tasks was the field of performance evaluation (mean (3.95), second was job analysis and description (mean 3.90), third was the field of incentives promotions (mean 3.7), fourth was the human resource planning and human resource development with an equal arithmetic mean (3.67), organizational obstacles in third and last place (3.60), the study on the differences revealed. The absence of significant differences in the average responses of school principals about the tasks of human resources management and the obstacles of having a HR management unit in general education schools due to the variables of the study. The two researchers recommended that school principals should be given more powers to carry out human resources management tasks at school, attract experts for human resources planning at school, pay attention to training and development to suit the needs of employees, provide a comprehensive information base for the tasks and functions of human resources management, focus on the importance of incentives and rewards and provide the necessary material resources for them. And adding the specialization of HR management as a precise specialization in the job description of the school principal. (Published abstract)
