The study aimed to investigate the impact of using the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) approach in the computer science subject on developing computer thinking skills among eighth-grade students. A quasi-experimental method was employed to achieve the study's objectives. The study participants were selected from two schools in Amman, totaling 60 male and female students. They were randomly divided into two groups: the experimental group (30 students) who were taught using the integrated STEM approach, and the control group (30 students) who were taught using conventional methods.The study utilized a pre-test and a post-test computer thinking skills assessment tool. The pre-test was administered before the intervention, and then the same assessment was applied to both study groups after the intervention. The study's results indicated differences in the computer thinking skills scores of eighth-grade students based on the teaching method. The results also showed no statistically significant differences attributed to gender or interaction effects. This implies the effectiveness of the STEM teaching method and its contribution to the development of computer thinking skills among students.The study recommended the active implementation of the integrated STEM approach in teaching computer science to enhance computer thinking skills and other subjects as well. (Author's abstract)
