The study aimed to identify the nomophobia and its relationship to emotional and social loneliness among University of Nizwa students. The study sample consists of (283) respondents who were selected randomly. Correlation descriptive design was used. The researcher used the Nomophobia Scale (Al-Barashdia & Al-Zafari, 2020) which consist of (18) items, and adapted the Emotional and Social Loneliness Scale which consist of (15) items. The results showed that the percentage of nomophobia prevalence was (55%) and the level of nomophobia was high (Mean= 4.30), while the percentage of emotional and social loneliness prevalence was (5.7%) and the level of emotional and social loneliness was low (Mean= 3.37). Regarding correlation coefficient, the results showed that there was significant correlation between the nomophobia and the emotional and social loneliness. According to variables, the results showed that there was no significant difference in the nomophobia due to sex and age variables. Regarding the emotional and social loneliness, the results showed that there was no significant difference due to sex variable in social and family domains, while there was significant difference in the emotional domain due to sex variable in favor of male. According to age variable, the results showed that there was significant difference in the emotional and social loneliness and in the emotional and family domains due to age variable in favor of the student aged 20 – 25 years.
