The research deals with the topic of innovation, its definition and importance. It tries to answer basic questions such as; why innovation? Why should we consider the topic of innovation? Why should we ask for having a high level of innovation? Through answering these questions, the importance of innovation appears. It is indicated that innovation became very urgent in our practical life and research fields. Innovation employees the powers of the mind and its abilities created by God and they are limitless capabilities but need to be invested properly. Innovation comes as an answer to many Quranic verses that calls for thinking, using mind, and meditation. In fact, meditation is a scientific mental process based on constant deduction and renewed ideas. It is based on innovation and its core. Through innovation, science is renewed, ideas are generated, and repetitive ideas that have become obsolete are eliminated. Innovation fights scientific dependency in research ideas and scientific opinions. Therefore, it is important to specify the bodies responsible for innovation in scientific research at the level of individuals and educational and research institutions. (Author’s abstract)
