واقع تطبيق قيادات المدارس الثانوية بدولة الكويت لمؤشرات الأداء في تجويد الأداء المدرسي : دراسة ميدانية
The study aims to know the degree of implementing key performance indicators by high school leaders in the State of Kuwait in improving school work, the obstacles they face, and the requirements for its activation from perceptions of the study sample. The study also seeks to know the difference perceptions among the study sample in terms of gender, qualification and years of experience. The study also aimed to provide recommendations to encourage school leaders to employ different performance indicators in decision making. The study followed a descriptive approach and a questionnaire was designed. The study sample consisted of 102 school principals. The study ended with results such as: 1) Attendance and leave records for learners and teachers, and teachers’ preparation- notes are among the most important performance indicators that school principals use in making school decisions. 2) School leaders believe that the absence of clear tasks and specializations in the school job description related to improving and developing school performance, the lack of adequate technical support from the school districts and the large burdens placed on school leaders, are considered to be among the most important obstacles facing schools’ leaders in Kuwait. 3) The findings indicated that providing a comprehensive database and financial support to schools are necessary requirements to activate using data-based decisions. 4) In addition, there are no statistically significant differences in the degree of implementing performance indicators in improving school work due to gender, qualification and years of experience except in the obstacles according to the variable of years of experience. The study suggested: 1) providing training opportunities for school leaders to enable them to measure performance and using data in school improvement plans, 2) activating the role of “Performance improving departments “in high schools in Kuwait, 3) using modern technology in analyzing and collecting data.
