This study aims to determine the factors affecting the education systems in both New Zealand and Indonesia. Then, the study tries to reach a number of educational principles through which it is possible to develop educational systems. The study employed the comparative analytical approach. The study reached a number of educational principles that can be benefited from and circulated, namely: Centralization helps in increasing the interest of education leaders in order to achieve goals and develop the educational process, to obtain good educational outcomes capable of competing globally. An increase in the education financing budget provided to the educational system is necessary, provided that it is adapted in the interest of improving education as a whole. The necessity of providing scientifically qualified cadres (teachers) to address the poor qualification of teachers before and during service. Increasing the allocations of teachers in the public and private education sectors, to prevent their migration to other educational systems. Finally, it is important to devote attention to the level of student achievement, the participation of parents, and the strengthening of trust between students and local community.
