The current research aimed to identify the effectiveness of using project-based learning in science teaching to develop conceptual assimilation, and its number (30) male and female students, which studied using project-based learning, and the second is the control group, which numbered (30) male and female students, which studied in the usual way of teaching. A list of levels of conceptual comprehension was prepared, in the light of which a conceptual assimilation test was prepared. The results showed the effectiveness of using project-based learning in developing conceptual assimilation, and indicated that there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group students and the average scores of the control group students in conceptual assimilation test, after application in favor of the experimental group, and the research recommended the need to involve learners on how to obtain sources of knowledge, and the need for curricula authors to pay attention to developing levels of conceptual assimilation within the objectives of the curricula for teaching science, conducting training courses on an ongoing basis for science teachers to be able to keep pace with the advanced curricula, and being familiar with modern technological means and techniques.
