This study aims to identify the effectiveness of a suggested unit based on text grammar approach to developing analysis of literary text skill and functional grammar skills and its effects on reducing the anxiety of parsing among first year secondary school students. To achieve the goal of the study, the researcher prepared a list of the analysis of literary text skills and a test for measuring analysis of literary text skills and a list of the functional grammar skills and a test for measuring functional grammar skills. And a list of the anxiety of parsing skills and a test for measuring anxiety of parsing skills the sample for the study consisted of (120) students. The sample was divided into an experimental group (60) and a control group (60). The experimental group was taught by using a suggested unit based on text grammar approach. The control group was taught by using the traditional unit. The research result declared that the experimental group had better performance on the analysis of literary text skill and functional grammar skills. The researcher recommended applying the teaching suggested using text grammar approach in teaching Arabic language to developing literary tasting skills and creative reading skills of secondary school students.
