The study aimed to identify the attitudes of the third-level students in the faculty of Education towards using active learning strategies in teaching social subjects. This study’s population is male and female social studies students recruited from various departments (e.g., history, geography, sociology…etc.). The study sample consists of sixty-nine male and female students. To achieve the aim of the study, the researcher used a questionnaire comprising thirty-five items distributed over seven domains. The researcher made sure of its validity and statistical stability using appropriate methods. The results show the effectiveness of active learning in teaching social subjects in all questionnaire areas with an average degree. The first field (development of social skills of the student got the first rank, (followed by the fourth field (appropriately managing the classroom then the fifth field, students’ interaction within the classroom, in third place, and the seventh field (development of thinking of all kinds, respectively the fourth, followed by the second domain (developing the emotional domain of the students in the fifth order, then the sixth domain (raising the students level of educational performance) in the sixth order, and the third domain (improving the classroom environment) ranked seventh. The results also showed statistically significant differences between the average grades of the sample attitudes toward active learning strategies in teaching social subjects due to specialization in favor of the students of geography and sociology Department.
