The current study aimed to explore the practice of strategic leadership and the availability of Administrative Innovation and its relationship between them, of Academics at Birzeit University; the researcher adopted a qualitative methodology with a descriptive design with a correlational analysis, focusing on the study of the phenomenon. The contributory in the study were academics and administrators who occupy administrative positions in the top management and middle management at Birzeit University, and they participated in the preparation and implementation of the last two strategic plans of Birzeit University. The participants were randomly selected, representing all the sample of participants, taking into account gender diversity. The researcher adopted the open structured interview tool, to examine the participants' opinions about the practice of strategic leadership in senior management, the practice of Administrative Innovation, and the relationship between them. The tool was applied to 19 participants from the senior and middle management, and the data was analyzed qualitatively (Thematic Analysis). The results concluded that there is a difference practice of strategic leadership from the participants’ point of view in the two departments, where the participants focused on that the practice of strategic leadership through some dimensions was clearer than others. As for administrative innovation, it appeared moderately from the point of view of the top management and varied less from the point of view of the middle management, where there was unanimity on some issues, and differing opinions on other issues. While the participants from both departments agreed that there is a high correlation between the practice of strategic leadership and the availability of administrative innovation. Where the results showed that the participants, whose answers indicated the availability of administrative innovation to them, are the ones whose answers indicated the existence of a practice of strategic leadership through its dimensions. The study came out with a number of recommendations, the most important of which are adopting participatory as a permanent approach at all levels, to reduce the impact of decentralization that sometimes causes a communication gap. In addition, the need to find radical solutions to financial problems by providing financial sources that ensure sustainability and contribute to development. (Author’s abstract)
