The study aimed to identify the effect of using the learning-by-play strategy in teaching English on developing critical thinking skills among eighth grade students in the Directorate of Education in Jerash Governorate. The study followed the semi-experimental approach. Jerash, and accordingly, two groups of eighth grade students were selected in a simple random way, where the first group of twenty-five students represented the experimental group, and the second group of twenty-five students was the control group. To achieve the objectives of the study, a test of critical thinking skills was prepared. Results of the study: There is a statistically significant effect of the learning by playing strategy between the average marks of the two experimental groups that were studied using the learning by playing strategy and the marks of the control group that were taught in the traditional way on critical thinking tests in favor of the experimental group.
