The present study aimed to investigate the relationship between ego development according to Erikson's theory and the attitude towards extremism among a sample of university youth. The sample of the study consisted of (250) university students, divided equally between males and females. The study used the modified Erikson psychosocial stage inventory, youth altitude towards extremisms scale, Rorschach test, and thematic apperception test. The results revealed a "medium" level of ego development on modified Erikson psychosocial stage inventory, and a "medium" level of the attitude towards extremism on youth altitude towards extremisms scale among university youth. The results also revealed a negative statistically significant correlation between the ego development according to Erikson's theory and the attitude towards extremism among university youth, and the absence of statistically significant differences between the mean scores of males and females modified Erikson psychosocial stage inventory while it revealed the existence of statistically significant differences between the mean scores of males and females of university youth on youth altitude towards extremisms scale and differences in favor of males. The results of the clinical study resulted in a dynamic relationship between the ego development according to Erikson's theory and the attitude towards extremism in the case of the study.
