This study aimed to reveal the extent to which the science book for the eighth grade in jordan included the standards of science for the next generation (ngss), and the descriptive and analytical approach was followed, and the study population that was assigned to it from the science book for the eighth grade in jordan with its first and second parts, and to achieve the objectives of the study was done the development of a content analysis tool that included (110) standards distributed in four axes (life sciences, chemistry, physics, earth and space sciences) and three dimensions emerge from each axis (scientific and engineering practices, main ideas, and common (comprehensive) concepts). Ensure the validity and stability of the tool and the results of the study indicated that the highest occurrences of the results of the content analysis of the science book for the eighth grade in jordan for the next generation science standards (ngss) in relation to the main ideas axis in the dimension of physics with a frequency of (95), and it came in the second class that the duplications of the results of the content analysis of the science textbook for the eighth grade in jordan for the next generation science standards (ngss) in relation to the axis of common concepts in the physics dimension, with a frequency of (64), and the degree the third axis of scientific and engineering practices was the highest frequency of the results of the content analysis of the eighth grade basic science textbook in jordan for the next generation science standards (ngss) in the life sciences dimension, with frequency (56). In light of these results, the researcher suggested a number of recommendations. (Author’s abstract)
