فاعليّة استخدام نموذج فراير في التّحصيل العلميّ وتنمية مهارات التفكير الناقد في مبحث الكيمياء لدى طلّاب الصف العاشر الأساسي في الأردنّ

This study aimed to investigate the teaching effect of the unit "Chemical Compounds and Bonds" in the tenth grade developed chemistry unit by applying "Frayer model" on their academic achievement and developing their critical thinking skills compared with the usual method of teaching the unit. To achieve this goal, the quasi-experimental approach was adopted in this study, the study sample consisted of (50) students and was randomly divided into two groups: a control group, with (25) students, and an experimental group also with (25) students, the sample was taken from two different tenth grade sections from Zimal high secondary school, Al-kourah district, Irbid Governorate – Jordan, second semester (2021/2022). The unit “Chemical Compounds and Bonds” was taught, as per the Frayer Model to the experimental group, the controlled group was taught content in the usual way. The results revealed that there was a statistical significant difference between the mean scores of the students of the two groups in both the achievement test and the critical thinking skills test, the difference was in favour of the experimental group. According to these results, the study recommended to chemistry teachers to teach the unit by using the Frayer model. (Author’s abstract)
