مدى ممارسة مديري المدارس الحكومية ومعلميهم لأدوارهم في تفعيل مجالات الإقتصاد الأخضر في التعليم وآليات تعزيزها في ضوء رؤية عمان 2040
The aim of this study is to determine to what extent public school principals and their teachers practice their roles in activating the fields of the green economy in education and the mechanisms for enhancing them in light of the “Oman 2040 Vision”. The study adopted the descriptive method, and the data had been collected by using two different scales. The first one was directed to the school principals and it contained (29) different items; they covered four major parameters which were: the teacher, the students, the school building, and the local community. The second scale was directed to the teachers and it consisted of (23) items; they covered three major fields which were: the curriculum of study, the students, and the school activities. The two scales were statistically confirmed for their reliability and Cronbach’s alpha was calculated as (0.955) and (0.975) for the first and second scales respectively. The sample consisted of (153) school principals and (686) teachers from different schools of basic education and post-basic education in the Sultanate of Oman in 2020. The results of the study indicated that both school principals and teachers performed their roles unevenly in activating the fields of the green economy in education, with differences in the degree of playing the roles in each scale. Moreover, the study indicated that there is a statistically significant difference in the principals’ performance in their roles, due to whether or not schools implement a project concerned with the green economy, in favor of the implementing schools. The study suggested mechanisms that enhance the performance of school principals and their teachers for their roles in activating the green economy in education, in light of “Oman Vision 2040”.
