The study aimed at identifying the reality of community participation of the local community institutions in the field of professional development for faculty members at the Faculty of Education, Kuwait University. The study followed the descriptive survey approach. In order to achieve this goal, a questionnaire consisting of three axes was used, so that the first axis includes items that measure the degree of community participation of local community institutions in supporting faculty members to achieve the goals related to the field of teaching. While the second axis includes items that measure the degree of community participation of local community institutions in supporting faculty members in order to achieve the goals related to field of scientific research. Finally, the third axis includes items that measure the degree of community participation of local community institutions in supporting faculty members to achieve the goals related to the field of community service. The study sample consisted of (80) faculty members representing (64%) of the total community. The results of the study showed that the reality of the community participation of local community institutions in the field of professional development at the Faculty of Education, Kuwait University came at a medium degree (3.04). The same applies to the three fields, in descending order: community service, teaching, and scientific research. The results indicated that there were three differences of statistical significant at the level (0.05) due to the effect of the gender variable in the fields of (teaching and scientific research) in favor of females, as well as the presence of statistical significant differences for the academic rank variable in two fields (the field of teaching and community service) in favor of the rank of (Assistant Professor). At the level of significance less than (0.05), while there were no differences of statistical significant for the variables of scientific department and years of service. (Author’s abstract)
