The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of a group counseling program based on the Dialectical Behavior theory DBT in developing the intrapersonal intelligence and academic achievement among students in the primary stage in Jordan. This study used quasi-experimental design. The sample included 30 subjects of the high primary stage (8,9 and 10 graders) selected intentionally and were then randomly assigned to two groups of experimental (n=15) and control (n=15). All participants were asked to complete the intrapersonal intelligence Scale and attended to specific school exams. The experimental group underwent the group therapy for 14 sessions, but the control group received no treatment. All the participants took the instruments again as post-tests. Data were analyzed using Two Way ANCOVA and TWO WAY MANCOVA analysis. The results showed that there was a significant difference at (α=0.05)level in the development of intrapersonal intelligence and academic achievement among the members of the experimental group. Moreover, the therapy significantly improved the academic achievement of the subjects in the experimental group. (Author's abstract)
