The present study aimed to identify the effectiveness of utilizing Sketchnoting in cognitive achievement and improving visual thinking among the students of the Foundation Year at the College of Education, Princess Nourah bint Abdulrahman University. It adopted the quasi experimental approach. It covered a sample of (62) students; (32) students in the experimental group and (30) ones in the control group. To achieve its objectives, the study developed the cognitive achievement test and visual thinking test in the e-learning course and applied them to the participants. It concluded that there is a statistically significant difference in the mean scores of the students of the control group (taught in the traditional method) and the experimental group (taught in Sketchnoting) in the post cognitive achievement test in favor of the experimental group. Moreover, there is a statistically significant difference in the mean scores of the students of the control and the experimental groups in the post visual thinking test in favor of the experimental group.
