dépistage des élèves en difficulté scolaire en algérie : étude de terrain au primaire, au collège et au secondaire
In this article, we present the first part of our work. It is a question of referring to Quebec's experience in preventing school dropout. The main objective of the research is to verify the primary and secondary school failure rates in Algerian schools. Two steps were necessary, namely: 1) the development of a screening tool for students at risk of school failure. 2) The screening test in primary and secondary schools includes 12 teachers and some 560 pupils. Research results show that students' difficulties are of the following order of importance: 46% with learning difficulties, 30% with internalized behavioral difficulties and 24% with externalized behavioral difficulties. An analysis of the results of the comparison between boys and girls shows that, in general, girls are identified as good pupils more frequently than boys. Indeed, among the latter, the risk rate is higher than among girls (55%) so more than one among two boys, is at risk of dropping out of school whereas for girls, it is 36%, that means one girl among 3 girls.
