الدافعية الداخلية نحو تلاوة القرآن الكريم وعلاقتها بمستوى الثقة بالنفس لدى طلبة جامعة البترا
This study aims to explore the level of intrinsic motivation of Petra University students towards the recitation of the Holy Qur'an, and its relation to their self-confidence. The study sample consisted of 588 male and female students. Two measures are used in this study; a measure of intrinsic motivation and a measure of self-confidence. The study results indicated a high level of intrinsic motivation of students towards the Holy Qur'an recitation. Also, the results showed the existence of statistically significant differences in the intrinsic motivation levels attributed to the gender variable, and in favor of female students. However, no statistically significant differences in the intrinsic motivation levels that could be attributed to the college variable have been detected. Also, the study results indicated an increase in the level of self-confidence of the study sample participants, without showing any differences in the self-confidence level attributed to the gender variable. However, the results showed statistically significant differences in the self-confidence levels that can be attributed to the college variable, in favor of science colleges. Furthermore, the results showed a positive relation between the level of intrinsic motivation towards the Holy Qur'an recitation and the self-confidence level. (Published abstract)
