The current study aimed to identify the reality of service learning in some universities in the United States of America and the possibility of benefiting from it at the University of Nizwa in the Sultanate of Oman. The study used the descriptive method, and the theory of content analysis was also used in document analysis in collecting data and information. The study reached a set of results, the most important of which are that the service learning programs at the University of Nizwa in the Sultanate of Oman focus on field training in all university faculties. The study recommended expanding the scope of service learning programs in all faculties at the University of Nizwa to include many courses that are directly related to the development of local communities, and the establishment of a service learning unit that is affiliated with the local community development center at the university, in addition to the formation of committees in all faculties and departments for service learning.
