Children labor has negative effects on the child's mental development, as well as the physical and psychological effects. From this point, the problem of study emerged from the following two questions (what are the causes of child labor? Is there a relationship between child labor and school drop-out?), as this research aimed to reveal the causes child labor in the holy city of Karbala, and its relationship with school dropout for the year 2020 to achieve the two objectives of the research, the two researchers followed the descriptive analytical method, and they conducted a questionnaire consisting of (28) items, validated. The questionnaire was distributed to (100) children from the holy city of Karbala, who were randomly selected, of which 9 were neglected. For various reasons, to become a sample of 91 children. To reveal the results of the research, the researchers used percentages, iterations, and the statistical bag of educational sciences (SPSS), which included the Pearson correlation coefficient. The results of the research showed that there are multiple causes of child labor, with a statistically significant relationship between these causes and school dropout. (Published abstract)
