The study aims to determine the roles of superintendent for developing the elementary school teachers in Riyadh in the following: teaching performance, methods and strategies of teaching, classroom management, and human relations. It further aims to identify the level of the variance of opinions held by the study participants according to different variables of the study (academic qualification - experience). A questionnaire was used to carry out the study. The most important results were that majority of the respondents moderately agreed in every field to the roles of superintendent for developing the elementary school teachers in Riyadh. As well as the differences found in statistical significance in responses of study participants with various educational qualifications favoring those with bachelor’s degrees, and the number of years of experience in education favoring those with one to less than five years of experience. In light of the results of the study, The researchers wrote a number of recommendations, the most important of them where: the superintendent should Provide teachers with the best ways to accomplish tasks in a timely manner, instruct teachers to use appropriate teaching methods for students, encourage teachers to pay attention to student motives, instruct teachers to take care of the classroom environment et instruct teachers not to write negative or offensive statements when evaluating students' work.
